Bedrest!

Well, it came a little earlier than we had hoped, but bed rest here I am! My doctor has put me on level 3 bed rest until the babies are born. My cervix has thinned/shortened more than they want it to for this early on so to prevent any early labor, I am bound to my bed, and moving to Portland this weekend to stay at my parents. Here's hoping the bed rest keeps things at bay at least another 5 weeks so we can get to that magical 32 week mark.

The girls are growing well and kicking like crazy! They are about 2 lbs each now. We got some great pictures of them at our ultrasound on Tuesday, but unfortunately my home computer is in the repair shop so I can't get those online until it's back.

For any of my friends that have been on bed rest, how did you stay sane? I am so bored!

Wow Sarah, that kind of stinks! I'd suggest lots of books, Sudoku/other puzzles, maybe learning some cross stitch/knitting/etc, and some good old classic movies. Good luck!

Sarah, just enjoy every minute its a break before the babies. What I did was scrapbook, sleep, watch movies, sleep, I packed a little cooler by the bed with healthy snacks just in case I got hungry which is good. I could only get up to go to the bathroom so I had to make sure everything was right in hands reach. Right now would be a great time to read up on twin books. I have a few that were great if you want any suggestions. and baby wise is a great one on learning how to get the twins on a great sleeping schedule. Some parents don't. For me I had to I am a very organized, time prioritizing person so getting them on a routine was a necessity for me. You will find what works for you and the girls. Like I said just enjoy your break from work. Its boring I know but you will look back and be so glad you had that time for you. At least I did. I am glad your doing well and that the babies are too. I miss you. Call me sometime. I would love to talk with you. I tried calling before Christmas but I didn't get a hold of you.

Bed rest is one of those things that sounds great in theory, but in reality it sucks! I was only on bed rest for three weeks, but by the end I was going stir-crazy! I read a ton, watched a lot of TV and movies and slept. I hope everything goes well and your babies stay inside and keep growing!

Sorry that you have to be on bed rest! No fun! At least you get to go to your parents home, I bet that will make things a little easier! Man think of all the books you can read or movies you can watch or new skill you'll develop!! I hope the bed rest works so that you don't go into labor any time soon.

YAY! a blog! I love blogs. Well, I was never "perscribed" bed rest, but I was SOOO huge I couldnt walk without causing me injuries so I pretty much was on bed rest.... lotsa yummy food, a LOTS OF TV and movies! Lifetime movies, HGTV. Oh, and books books books! Projects on the computer.... journaling....etc etc. pretty much it sucks, but get so sick of TV now because later you will be so busy you wont be able to watch much :)
ps. I am having rebecca come tomorrow to take more pics of my boys (well, if conners runny nose is better)

Ugh, so sorry! I've fortunately never had that. Hope time passes quickly for your sake! You'll be having fun with 2 cute girls soon though!
