I've been tagged and I'm going to share all about my wonderful husband Doug who takes such good care of me!
What's his name? Douglas Mayo
How long have you been together? Since March 2006 so almost 2 years!
How long did you date? We did not date very long at all. Some thought we were CRAZY but we both knew it was love at first sight!! We dated 6 months!
How old is he? Doug is an old soul... I think he is more mature than his age lets on but, the old man is 25.
Who eats more? Definitely Doug!! He can outdo me any day of the week, which is great because food never goes to waste in our house!
Who said I love you first? He did, but I didn't wait too long to follow! :)
Who is taller? He is just barely taller than I am. When I wear the wrong shoes it goes the other way around tho!
Who can sing better? Definitely Doug... I can't carry a tun to save my life, but he has a great voice!
Who does the laundry? Mostly me. I actually prefer to do it because sometimes he leaves things in his pockets or washes stuff on hot when it should be on cold. Really, I do it because I am a micro manager and cant stand to not do it!
Who pays the bills? Me, Doug has enough on his plate with his job. I pay the normal bills, but he handles all of our retirement savings and planning.
Who sleeps on the right side? If you are looking at the bed, I sleep on the left, but when we are in it, it ends of that I am on the right. We only have a double bed, so there isn't really a right or left, but more just a middle.
Who mows the lawn? If we had a lawn, it would be doug. He looks at lawnmowers all the time at Home Depot. He can't wait.
Who cooks the dinner? I cook during the week because I get home from work before him, but he usually cooks on the weekends or anytime we are cooking on the grill.
Who drives? It depends on what car we are driving. I never drive his truck, it scares me, but sometimes he drives our car, but mostly I do. Again, I am a control freak!
Who is more stubborn? That's a hard one... we each have our moments, but more than anything I think its me!
Who kissed who first? He kissed me first but I wanted to kiss him all night.
Who asked who out first? We talked on the phone a lot before we decided to meet in person. I think it was mutual, that we should finally meet. I decided we should do it at disney, a very public place!
Who proposed? Doug!
Who has more friends? Um neither of us, we have like no friends. We really just spend time with each other
Who is more sensitive? Definitely me. But for a guy I think Doug is pretty sensitive.
Who has more siblings? I do. Doug has 1 sister, and I have 3 siblings
Who wears the pants? It depends. I think more often than not I want to wear the pant, (yes I know I am a control freak) but mostly doug does. I think we have a pretty balanced relationship tho.

Pictures- Finally!!
Since I mostly blog during slow times at work, it's hard for me to upload the photos that go with it, since they are all on my home computer. Here are some recent pictures to let you know what we've been up to!
We went fishing in December in the Crooked River... it really was as cold as it looks!
Those are the 3 Sisters mountains near where we live, they are beautiful all of the time! It's so awesome to be around mountains again!!
We went to the Oregon Coast after Thanksgiving with both my parents and Doug's parents who were in town from Oklahoma City! It was such beautiful weather!
This is us on our first day in Bend!! We finally made it, and just in time to see the beautiful fall leaves everywhere on the Deschutes River!

Cable TV = Bye Bye!
Recently Doug and I took a major step in our lives, and cancelled the cable TV. We mostly decided to do this because our cable provider in Bend overcharges and we don't get half the channels want if we are paying as much as we were. So we cancelled it. It was hard- you get used to that routine of having shows to come home to at night, and background noise in morning when you're getting ready for work. It's always there for you, and with DVR (my very best TV friend) I could watch all of my shows whenever I wanted, as much as I wanted!
But in the end it seemed to be more of a waste of time than anything. So we cancelled it and it's been so worth it! We are happier, less lazy and more productive, and I've found it's improved our relationship because we have much more time to talk and spend quality time together doing other things like taking walks and tying flies together for our fishing trips this summer. (Doug got me an awesome pink fishing vest for Christmas- I am so ready now!) If you can spare it, I challenge you to cancel your cable and see what it does for you!

My new nickname- SLACKER!
I cannot believe I haven't blogged since October! I am such a slacker!! Where to begin?! Well let's see if I can recap the last 4 months without talking to you to sleep!
Doug and I moved to Bend and got here Oct. 13. It took about 5 days for us to get an apartment (we made our temporary home at the Day's Inn, oh ya) and then moved in and started hunting for jobs! Doug started working as the Assistant Manager at the downtown branch of Washington Mutual. He really likes it, and it's given him a lot of good opportunities to meet people and grow, which is awesome! I meanwhile have been concentrating on starting my own business as a freelance graphic designer here in Bend. We figured it would be as good of a time as any to start something new. I made a few really good contacts but was having a hard time getting work. So in December I started applying for jobs, any job in the area.
Yesterday I started my new job- I am an administrative assistant for J.U.B Engineers. They have offices all over Idaho, Utah, Washington and Oregon, and were just voted in the top 20 Best Engineering firms to work for. I answer phones, and do all the usual clerical work. It might sound boring but I actually am really enjoying it. Plus I get half days every friday!
Doug and I had a great Christmas with family! We went to Oklahoma the week before Christmas and shared the weekend with his parents and sister, and spent Christmas with my parents in Portland. It was so nice to be close enough to see them, and we even got some snow, which for those of you know know anything about Portland, know it never snows on Christmas! It was a great time!
Speaking of snow, we are getting lots of it here in Bend!! Right now we are also getting some arctic chills, it was -1 today when I left for work at 7:15, and yesterday it was only a high of 17!! Talk about POLAR opposites from Orlando just a few months ago, but we totally love it! We've tried snowboarding and love it, and look forward to going more often, and really enjoy all the beauty the snow covered mountains have to offer us here!!
My brother came and visited us after christmas and totally got me hooked on Lost. I had never watched it before, but since he left I have been glued to the computer (Thank you ABC.com for having free HD streaming of all the past episodes) and I think I am going to be totally caught up for Season 4 to begin on Jan. 31st!! YA!
I started reading a book a friend recommended to me last week by Stephanie Meyer, called Twlight. It's a series of 3 about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. It's written by a woman who is LDS and went to BYU and its sooooo good! I couldn't put it down! Now I wait eagerly for the library to call me and tell me the second book is in so I can get addicted all over! You should check them out- Twlight, New Moon, and Eclipse!
Well a novel later, I should sign out. I am bummed with the news that hottie actor heath ledger died today from a presumed drug OD. Its so sad when such talented people lose themselves to that awful lifestyle! I feel so blessed my life is what it is!!
